Nicole Nascimento, MS, CCC-SLP, OMT

Nicole Nascimento is an American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)–certified speech and language pathologist with over 15 years of experience in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric speech and language disorders including: apraxia; developmental delays associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders; receptive, expressive, and pragmatic language delays; dysarthria; articulation and phonological disorders; reading disorders, and orofacial myofunctional disorders.

Nicole’s unique approach includes the full cycle design and delivery of care with consideration to the integrated parts of child/parent/classroom teacher working together for generalization of learned skills. Her experience as a parent of twin boys going through the different school “systems” , including the Windward School uniquely positions her to best identify, develop, and deliver a truly integrated Individualized Education Plan, complete with parent training, tools/technology for augmentative and assistive communication, and integrative co-treatment with ABA, physical and occupational therapists.

Being fully immersed in the Westchester and Fairfield county communities, she consults with school systems providing Independent Education Evaluations in Speech and Language, developing IEPs, facilitating one-on-one teacher training on delivery of speech and language goals, and liasing school teams and parents to bridge the gap between theory and practice. She brings the latest in techniques and evidence based research to her therapy with students and professional development programs for teachers. Nicole’s drive and curiosity brings the continuous pursuit of best practices in to the evaluation and delivery of “sensible and realistic treatment programs”.
