Jaclyn Manzo has been providing specialized instruction to students both in the public school and private setting for the past ten years.
Jaclyn loves tutoring. It gives her an opportunity to work 1:1 with students and tailor lessons to each student’s specific needs. She is skilled at teaching reading (decoding, fluency, and comprehension skills), math (basic fact fluency and problem-solving), writing (expression and grammar), and study/executive function skills. As a special education teacher, she has taught all elementary school subjects but her passion is in reading instruction. Jaclyn likes to keep her lessons multi-sensory and fun. She will often include games or shared reading to give students an opportunity to practice skills out of context and to keep her students excited about sessions.
Jaclyn received her bachelor’s degree from Providence College in Elementary and Special Education and then went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Reading. She received her associate level Orton Gillingham Certification and IDA Dyslexia Practitioner certificate in 2017 and is currently pursuing the Orton Gillingham certified level through the Southport School. She has taught in both the Massachusetts and Connecticut School Systems, in Marlborough and Fairfield respectively. Her qualifications include:
- Certified General Education, Special Education Teacher, and Reading Specialist
- Master’s Degree in Reading
- Associate Level in Orton Gillingham
- International Dyslexia Association Certified Dyslexia Practitioner
- Case Manager
- Experienced Executive Functions Coach
- Training in Lindamood-Bell Phoneme Sequencing Program (LiPS)
