Karen Sondergaard, M.D. is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Anxiety and Mood Disorders, OCD, Psychotic Disorders, behavioral difficulties and attachment issues. She also works as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale Child Study Center. Dr. Sondergaard is board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as well as Adult Psychiatry. She is a member of the Medical Honor Society Alpha Omega Alpha, as well as the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association.
A native of Connecticut, Dr. Sondergaard received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Medical degree from New York Medical College. She then returned to Connecticut to do her Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training at Yale University and the Yale Child Study Center. She currently resides in Trumbull, CT with her husband and daughter.
