Cogmed Working Memory Training

Cogmed is a scientifically validated method for improving working memory. Working memory has been shown in countless research studies to be an underlying key to successful completion of academic and life skills. Reading comprehension, writing a paper, or completing a multi-step math problem all require the ability to hold several details in one’s mind while completing the task. Carrying on a conversation, following instructions, and organizing one’s room all require this same skill. Cogmed training is conducted online, so it is a flexible intervention that can be done anywhere an Internet connection is available. During the training sessions, which are overseen by a Southfield Center Certified Cogmed Coach, a student is presented with game-like activities that increasingly challenge working memory, thereby systematically improving working memory ability.

Our fee for the Cogmed Working Memory Training Package is $1,450. This includes 8 sessions: an intake/start-up session, 5 coaching sessions, a wrap up session and a follow up session. In addition to the session fee, we reserve the right to bill for any phone calls, email communication, or meetings with school staff or parents that exceed fifteen minutes in duration. This will be based on an hourly session fee of $150.
