Sara Callahan, LPC, NBCC, MA is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Board Certified Counselor and a Connecticut Certified School Counselor (K-12) whose passion for working with children and adults in individual and group therapy is demonstrated through her broad experience and success working with a diverse range of clientele. Sara’s approach to therapy is child and family focused and collaborative in nature. With a broad experience in various settings, Sara incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused approaches directed by the needs of the child and family.
Sara earned her undergraduate degree at Bucknell University and received her Master’s degree in Counseling at Fairfield University. She has worked as a School Counselor at the middle school level and has provided individual and group counseling to children and adolescents, addressing social, behavioral, emotional and educational concerns. She also worked closely with parents, educators and community agencies to support student success. In her role as a School Counselor she incorporated developing behavior management plans, consultation with special education services, crisis intervention and the development and delivery of comprehensive developmental guidance lessons. Sara’s experience in the school setting is complemented by her most recent role as therapist at SuperKids where she provided group, individual and parent counseling with an emphasis on social skills training. She has extensive experience working with children with Autism spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD and ADD.
